The ensemble's artistic director, Hartmut Pascher, states, "It's about doing justice to the history of the Imperial House with our music." The Habsburgs have been champions of music and artistic life for centuries. Although some members weren't fond of music, many were not only patrons but also practitioners, with several excellent musicians and composers among them. To honor and continue this rich tradition, the Vienna Emperor Quartet was formed, merging vast experience with fresh energy. Their heartfelt performances captivate audiences, with meticulously curated programs. The musicians comprise veteran chamber performers, acclaimed soloists, and accomplished graduates, some taught by the ensemble's seasoned members. The quartet also collaborates with wind instrumentalists and vocal soloists, significantly enriching their repertoire.
